Arrival Information

Address: 536 Sunken Lake Road, Nova Scotia
Check-In: Anytime after 3:00 PM
Check-Out: By 10:00 AM

  • Directions: When on Sunken Lake Road (paved section), Sunken Escapes is on the right-hand side before you hit the gravel. If you reach the gravel, you've gone too far. Lower Sunken Lake Road and Sunken Lake Road are the same. If you turn right at the T on Deep Hollow Road, you'll be on Sunken Lake Road.

Parking: Parking is in the designated lot. Use the wagons provided to bring your items to your unit.

Wi-Fi Access: Log into the open Wi-Fi signal named sunkenescapes. There is no password. We recommend connecting as soon as you enter the parking lot. When you log on, a page will pop up (similar to logging onto airport Wi-Fi). Select "OK" for the internet to activate.

Locking and Unlocking Your Cabin: Lift the door handle to engage the lock, then use the key to secure the door from the outside. Repeat this process for locking from the inside.

Finding Your Code: Your lockbox code and instructions will be available once you connect to the Wi-Fi, it will be in your check in information on the booking platform you booked with, or in your e-mail if you booked direct.

Cabin Details

Shared Washrooms: Located in the parking lot building on the forest side. These are the main bathrooms for the mini cabins, featuring three showers, two bathroom stalls, and a hair dryer.

Provided Amenities:
We’ve got you covered with:

  • Shampoo, conditioner, body wash

  • Towels and face cloths

  • Coffee, sugar, Splenda, coffee creamers, tea

  • Paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, hand soap, garbage bags

  • Pots, cutlery coffee mugs

Firewood: Feel free to use any firewood you find around the site.

Private Features for Each Unit:

  • Chiminea firepit

  • BBQ with utensils (propane provided)

  • Outdoor Dining table for 2

  • Outdoor Couch

Activities & Public Areas

Kayaks: Available free of charge down by the beach. Please be sure to grab a life jacket and paddle.

Public Areas:

  • Swinging beds and a firepit at the beachhead

  • Another public area with swinging beds and a firepit is located straight to the lake from the parking lot.

Bicycles: Available for rent. Instructions are on the bikes (download an app and choose the length of rental). Helmets are provided.

Eco-Friendly Guidelines

  • Leave No Trace: Dispose of waste properly. Please leave garbage in your unit for the cleaning team to take care of. If you need some taken out before the end of your stay, please let us know.

  • Minimize Light Pollution: Enjoy the natural beauty of the dark sky. Please keep your lights low, so that you can enjoy the beautiful stars.

Respect Wildlife: This is their home too. Please do not feed them, or try to pet them.

Important Notes

  • Contactless Check-In: Hosts live nearby if assistance is needed.

  • Fire Safety: Check the Fireban Nova Scotia website before lighting any fires.

Departure Instructions

Tidy Up: Place used linens and towels in the designated spot.

Turn Off Lights: Ensure all lights are off.
